By remaining true to our core values, I have watched our company grow into a cutting-edge organization that strives to improve technology with the distinctive needs of our customer base in mind.

As a company, we are equally committed to providing a comfortable livelihood for our employees and giving back to our community. One of our primary strengths is that, despite our rapid growth, we have managed to maintain a strong sense of family in our everyday working environment. That is, the family-centered atmosphere that characterized the business at its inception still very much defines the company today.

Clients continue to be drawn to i³ not only because of our innovative products and quality services, but also because of our rich, "family-like" working environment. This distinguishing trait is something that owners and employees alike work hard to maintain.

Vern is currently president of Alutron Modules Inc, an electronics manufacturer located in Aurora Ontario. Alutron designs and manufactures custom electronic controls for various industries. The customer base includes central vacuum manufacturers located throughout North America and Europe along with HVAC and other types of manufacturers of consumer products. Alutron started 22 years. Business growth necessitated a move to rental facilities in 1990, with a number of additional moves thereafter as sales grew.
The strength of Alutron is its ability to innovate and develop new products.
Vern currently holds a total of 10 US patents and 4 Canadian patents, with an additional 10
Patent applications outstanding.

Fred founded Belnor Engineering in 1975 to introduce variable speed fan and pump drive packages to improve performance and save energy of HVAC systems. In the mid 1980's he introduced the concept of metering air flow in critical applications such as laboratories, fume hood face velocity controls, and isolation room controls, a concept which is now in wide use throughout Canada.

In 1997 Fred purchased VCI Controls Inc., a Building Automation Controls company that controls the internal environment in commercial, institutional and similar buildings. VCI Controls is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario and has offices in Ottawa, Ontario; Pembroke, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec; and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Fred spun off AirGenuity, a division of Belnor Engineering into its own company in 2007. The mandate of AirGenuity Inc. is to drive innovation into the HVAC marketplace, to look for the "root cause" of energy inefficiency, to "test" each proposed solution, then implement the best one. This philosophy has resulted in a rapid growth of the company.

Fred has two US and two Canadian patents to his name, involving the pressurization control of the highest biological containment facilities. He is a past president of the Canadian Chapter of the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA), a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Stewart McLaren was trained as Mechanical Engineer and started his first company First Design Inc. while still in school. After Studying Engineering, Stewart continued his studies in business management at the University of Toronto.

Through business growth and evolution the Company was renamed Almac Industrial Systems in 2004. Specializing in engineered industrial automation systems Almac now designs, manufactures and commissions systems that are installed worldwide in over 20 countries.

He sits on the board of directors for Innovator's Alliance, a business advisory organization that focuses on innovative and growth businesses.
